Alright folks,

Here it is!  The second page of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's 1940 K-Metal story!

There is no known surviving artwork for this page, so Angel has illustrated it directly from Jerry Siegel's script.  Bob inked and colored it, and yours truly did his best to emulate the "rough" 1940-era dialog balloons as they appeared in the surviving Shuster studio pages.

You can read about the initial launching of this story here.

*** mini-spoiler ***

I think the good Professor's prediction that he makes in panel 6 has certainly come true.  I've lost count of just how many times a meteor-from-Krypton has flown by Earth and had unpredictable effects on Superman...

But this one was the first!

Very cool, I only wish that it didn't take so long for the pages to be posted, but they have been all worth the wait thus far.

Great job everyone!

Hey, "you can't rush great art!" Smiley

That said, the wait-time between pages will hopefully be decreasing.

With page 2, for various reasons, Bob had to ink over vellum.  Vellum doesn't absorb ink - the ink just sits on top of the vellum until it air-dries, which takes a few hours.  In order to avoid having anything smudge, Bob inked the page in small bits and pieces, waiting between each session for the ink to dry.

But we've managed to improve the production process such that he'll now be inking directly on Angel's bristol-board pencils. So it should go a lot faster.

Wow - you guys are the best.  So I just wanted to drop a brief note that I've put the original uninked pencils of what we've released so far up in my site - on the gallery page.  That's www.criadoman.com.  So if you're interested, check that out.  In the meantime, like Rao said, we're gonna pick up some speed.
